Local Romantic Weekend Getaways?

The wife and I have been in a bit of a funk lately. I'd like to plan a little romantic weekend getaway and am looking for ideas. Here's what I was thinking so far.

Manhattan- Go in Friday afternoon and have dinner. Maybe see a Saturday matinee and then sight seeing and dinner Saturday night and come home Sunday. I don't know much about the city so if anyone has any romantic restaurants and hotels that would be great. I don't want a restaurant where you spend $60 for a small serving either.

Foxwoods, Mohegan, AC- We are not big gamblers and really only hit the slots. I'd also have to check on what shows are playing. If there's nothing good then these are out of the question.

Wineries- We are not wine drinkers.

Cold Weather Stuff- If my wife were a Christmas character she would be the red headed heat miser. She hates the cold so any ski type thing is off limits.

I'm open to other suggestions. I'd like to go within the next two to three weeks so any warm weather things are off the list. You also have to take into account she's a teacher so it's not like we can just go whenever we want, thus the weekend getaway.

Take her to caesars resorts in PA. You can rent a room
With own swimming pool in it also has champagne glass hot tube. Breakfast and dinner is included in your stay. Food is great lobster tail and filet mignon etc. Place is awesome. My partner and I go once a year.

If you can wait till late march early april, Block island might be the best romantic getaway in the northeast, and you can get hotel rooms with ocean views mid week for $69 a night, up to $150 on the weekends early season. They will arrange for bike rentals, kayak rentals, moped rentals, and the island is full of private beaches, hiking trails, amazing kayaking areas, quiet romantic restaurants, basically a couples weekend to get lovin on each other

Also, even if you book something a month or 2 ahead, that can be enough to knock the funk off so to speak, as you will both be looking forward to the getaway.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. When I wanted to convert my cichlids tank to a reef I brought her to AH to show her the fish. She didn't want me to get rid of the cichlids but seeing the SW fish in person helped change her mind.

Her ideal vacation is lying on the beach all week. That's basically the opposite if what I want. I like the beach but I basically stay under the umbrella the entire time. I'm sure she would like the cabin ideas if I actually got her there, but getting her to WANT to go there is a little struggle.

I do like the idea of booking something a few weeks down the road so we have something to look forward to. Even a spring break week trip might be good. I don't have a passport and I don't know if it would arrive in time to go out if the country.

If you're going to Manhattan you can try Victor's Cafe on 52nd Street. Cuban food and the best mojitos I have ever had (and I've tried them across the country. Another favorite of mine in Casa Mono on 17 St and Irving place (near Gramercy park). Spanish tapas. You won't spend too much on food but the wine starts at around 40-50 bucks per bottle. Extensive wine list and best variety of Spanish wine that you'll find this side of the Atlantic. Both restaurants have websites and Casa Mono DEFINATELY requires reservations. Have fun.
