Local Sea Hair

I got a nice pack of snails and emerald crabs from Nick at Upstate Aquatics in Corning that did a number on my HA. I didn't see any sea hairs though when I was there. You might call and ask him if no one has one to lend.

yeah, i dont think he has one. Ill ask him next time im there. My snails were doing good, now it seems like they havent moved much in a few days. Still alive, but not moving/eating. Just did 16g water change, 1.026, (0.08 Phosphate before WC) and replenished the RowPhos last night. Im getting very frustrated! I guess i will cut down the 7 hours of MH and 10 hours of PC's.

I was just talking to nick on saturday, i didnt see any there. Could order im sure, specially with the frag swap next weekend.

If you have filter sock (5 micron) you could dose a bit of LaCl. That helped clear up my phos, a bit frightening at first, but it really wasnt bad at all. At
.08 Po4 i am sure your GFO is depleating fairly quickly. I used to LaCl to get a good chunk of phos down, and the GFO for maintanance only. Took almost a year for my phosphates to stop leaching from the rocks i had used. How is your water before it hits the tank? Courious to see is it from the water iteslf or is it being leached out. Might be worth taking a few rocks out and soaking in LaCl, giving a good rinse, and puting it back to give a good deep clean.

I also found ZEOVITS to help reduce some of the nutrients from the system. I dont have the full system since its so expencive, i just throw the zeovits stones in a TLF reactor, just shake it up every day or two.
