Long hiatus, coming back

Hello all. Been a few years since I had any salt tanks set up. I am back at a desk job again and will be setting up a nano. Once I get back from visiting my brother in Ohio beginning of next month I will be purchasing a CADlights 8gallon. Since this tank will be kept on my desk at work, I need to keep things small (even though I would love to set up something bigger). My plan is to keep a few corals (nothing invasive with toxins or long sweepers), but the centerpiece would be sexy shrimp. So, in about 3 months, if any of you have some coral you want to frag, I'll be hitting you up.

Been busy. The Cadlights 8 showed up last week and the modding has already started. I added two small blue LED strips to it. I also just bought a MJ600 to use as the return pump. I read a lot about how the pump is set up on these tanks. Even though the stock pump has enough output, it's the nozzle that is the issue. It points straight out and you can't adjust it. Everyone who uses it gets a bare spot in one of the front corners. By switching to the MJ, I'll be able to use the deflector and solve the problem. I also bought Marinepure Biofilter media balls for the back chamber. Going to do a leak test this weekend before getting things going. Also picked up sand, salt, test kits, RO/DI filter, and a few other misc stuff that I will need soon. I plan on putting the tank in my office at work. I found out today that I will be changing offices, so I have a few weeks before taking it in.

Minor updates. Got everything into the tank. Picked up a few gadgets...heater and an ATO. Ended up using the stock return pump. I just glued the deflector from the MJ to the nozzle. Haven't decided if I like it or not yet. I may put the MJ back in if the flow isn't enough from the stock pump.
Got everything running. Salinity is almost where I need it. A little tweak with that and the heater setting and I'll be golden. I am going to start the cycle this weekend, just need to get a piece of shrimp from the store. Hoping that in a week or two I will hit up TFP and get a small piece of live rock rubble to get thing seeded, unless someone local has one

Pics of small progress. I need to adjust the settings on my iphone. These came out more blue than what it actually is.

I remember stopping out at your house once before, but it's been years. Where are you located?
