Hey guys, I have a long horned cow fish, I've had him for about 5 - 6 months now and for some reason today i found him laying down on the bottom of the tank, he was right side up and was moving his fins and i could see his gills moving and all. When i moved something close to him after a few seconds he find of moved and then started to swim around, then went back to the bottom of the tank. Hes done that about 5 times now. Is he sick or going to die? Does this sound like a problem. I have a QT Tank up just in case.:worried:

I would go ahead and move him to QT. Cowfish can be toxic when they die.

Sounds like a problem to me, but I don't have any answers. Hope he makes it. They are cool fish! Sorry.

thank you for the reply, i dont get it when i woke up he was laying at the bottom of the tank, i thought he was dead, but when i turned the light on he started to swim around again. He seems a little disoriented. I'm wondering, could this be velvet?

sorry to hear hope he pulls through yea definatly QT him because like above when they die they realease toxic stuff and than you have more than one problem.
