long lived starfish / harlequin shrimp

are there any reef safe starfish, that can live long enough and feed harlequin shrimp? I've heard that Chocolate chip can regenerate fast enough to keep the shrimp feed, but they're not reef safe...

The shrimp is going to stay on the star until there is nothing left. The only way a CC star, or any star, will regenerate is if you have a few in your sump or a Harly free tank and rotate the stars as you remove legs.

Out of curiosity, how often do you need to feed a harlequin shrimp a star fish leg? And can you remove a second leg while the first is still growing back without killing the starfish? I currently have 2 cc stars in my sump to feed the shrimp I have, but I've already used a leg off of each star.

Augh! This is a disgusting image. Feed the starfish to the harlequin, if you must, but not in small pieces....
