Long neck BTA

[Expensive Sushi]

I got a RBTA about 3 weeks ago. He doesn’t move, but he stretches big time during the day. Is this normal?

Looks like it is pretty bleached out and really reaching for the light. If you can move the rock it is on, put it in an area of lower flow with excellent lighting, and feed it if you have not already done so.

Shouldn't he move on his own if he wants more light?

I think I WILL move the rock so it faces the light.

How many inches deep in the tank is he?

I've never had a BTA but 18 inches is pretty deep for T5s to penetrate and I think BTAs like allot of light. I'd move him up to like 6 inches deep. Maybe someone else could comment on whether that's too much increase in light too soon to cause stress... I doubt it is though.
