Long Nose Hawk sick

Hello,
I am hopping someone here has seen this before. I've been searching all over the pace and have not really found anything meaningful as to what this might be.
I got this guy a couple of weeks ago and he looked healthy. There was this dark coloration inside of him when I bought him, but I just though it was an organ, I guess, this is my first hawk.
The dark coloration became more and more noticeable turning into a lump, and now it is actually protruding through the skin.
He is eating and swimming normally, water parameters are all good. Setting up a 40% water change as well. I am feeding him garlic hopping to boost his immune system.

Looks like it might be some kind of bacterial infection, or maybe a wound thats infected but I am not a fish vet.

Thanks rydr119 for your help. I just hope that it is not contagious. I am trying to setup a quarantine tank, but it will take me some time.
We'll see how it goes.
