long tentacle plate surival

i have had a long tentacle plate for about six months now, my question is what is the lifespan of these.
i have read that they are horrible in captivity
mine has done great, just a little concerned after reading

I believe most of that reputation stems from the fact that they are easily damaged. As you know the skeletal septae are very sharp and will lacerate the tissue very easily. I have had one for about four years. I believe if they are given proper conditions, not damaged and fed often they can do well.
