Hello everyone, i have a huge idea and i want to run it by you guys and any help wold be appreated.

my goal is to first build my own room/shed off from the house i live in so if i move i can just break it down and move it, rather then do any damage to ahouse by installing pipes ect.So my plan is to build a room big enough for a 500 gallon or bigger tank reenforced floor with double the wood on bottom to help with the weight. i want to plumb the back where the pieps can be built into the walls and when ihave to move the room . unhook the walls and pipe stays on the wall. and where do i get those huge water contianment tanks i keep seeing on mr saltwater and other places with rodi unit affixed to it?so i can unhook it and just travel with. also i know i can prob get a electrictian to wire me up a junction box for a portable area ive seen it done like u would a shed.My main reason for doing this is when i move place to place in life i dont want to damage a house or waste money on having a home renovated for a huge tank i could just go outside to the shed relax and do what i want

Unique idea. Do you live in a year round warm climate?
There are a lot of places to pick up those tanks, if you see one in someone's thread they will surely tell you where they got them. US plastics is one place.

It sounds possible, but you have a healthy number of challenges yet to conceptually overcome. A 500 gallon system is going to run close to 5,000 pounds by the time one includes rock, sand, hardware etc.

You mention double layered flooring.. What is going to hold the flooring? You;ll need to consider the lbs/sq foot and plan accordingly. Also, if you do play to make this mobile, your structure will have to permit disassembly..

Interesting concept... Perhaps consider holding off on the larger system until you can design it to be more permanent..?

That's the thing I am using 2x6s treated 10x8 with 3/4th in plywood the thing is a lot of places here don't support the weight of tanks of decent size better build something that can and does because this will be a life long hobby for me

Chris_s918 you have given very little info on where you live or what state you are in makes a huge difference. By just talking about the fact you might /or will move makes me believe you have all ready thought about it. Maybe you should think this threw a little more before jumping off the cliff once you have and start adding from what sounds like little more than a add on shed you cant go back. Here in Ohio that add on would kill every thing first winter insulted or not. Double layer of floor will not do any good if you do not have soiled floor under it and compacted dirt wont do it. I am not trying to stop you from having a big tank just don't want to see you put a lot of work and money in to some ting that goes wrong

Then how does one go about the hobbie who doesn't know where he will be in a few years but wants to do the hobbie how do you guys move with your live stock

^ do a smaller tank and use plastic storage totes for livestock moving. Keeping it under 40 gallons would probably be ideal.
