long term carbon use?

Is there any negitive side effects to using carbon on a fish olny system for long term.

No negative eisde effects on any system. Just change out the carbon every couple weeks or so. Which reminds me....

I read that carbon absorbs trace elements. That's why I use Purigen--it also is good for 3 months + & can be recharged.
