Ya I know I should rinsed the sand, but the problem is I received the sand at night, I don't want to keep the sand to long before putting it in the tank, I wanted the sand as fresh as possible. If I don't putting it on the same night, most probably the sand still in the bucket until today. This is because I have to work from morning till night for these couple days.
Anyway thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate that.
I Love all the fish but id recomend getting a much bigger skimmer for that size tank and bio load just my oppinion
I know what you mean, but you took a pretty big risk taking sand from the wild and putting it directly in your tank.
rinsing it would've taken all the bad and/or good stuff out of it anyways, so freshness wasn't a concern.

As you mentioned that, you took this sand form Reef. It was NLS( Natural Live Sand). Is it?
This is highly recommended not to sock NLS with fresh tab or RODI water, it lost all it's beneficial part, which is billion of bacteria, which help to develop biological filtration in the system. What you did is totally right"¦..
Your skimmer got nut because of dust pollution in the water column. You should stop the skimmer for one or two hours, even circulation for little time to just settle down a big part of your sand to the bottom, than you can restart the circulation and protein skimmer to take out rest of the stuff. But it require a lot of observation, that time your fish can be dead because of suffocation and Redox (oxidation-reduction)level.
Neat build from a far off land! Way to go. So let me get thsi correct. I see :
1 Vlamingi tang
