Long wait, finally the 270g build start.

I Love all the fish but id recomend getting a much bigger skimmer for that size tank and bio load just my oppinion

Ya I know I should rinsed the sand, but the problem is I received the sand at night, I don't want to keep the sand to long before putting it in the tank, I wanted the sand as fresh as possible. If I don't putting it on the same night, most probably the sand still in the bucket until today. This is because I have to work from morning till night for these couple days.

Anyway thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate that.

I know what you mean, but you took a pretty big risk taking sand from the wild and putting it directly in your tank.

rinsing it would've taken all the bad and/or good stuff out of it anyways, so freshness wasn't a concern.

I will DIY the skimmer, I have all the material on hand just wait for a free time to do it. I have about 1 hour free time this morning before head to work, I do some cutting of the body of the skimmer. The body made from 5g hard plastic drinking bottle, I will join 2 bottle into 1, it make it 2 feet high.

I will post picture later.

Yes the mistake had been made. So far the fish look fine and coral also fine, just let the skimmer to clean the water. This is not my 1st time to do this, I do at my old tank. Next time I will rinse the sand before putting it, just keep about a cup to have the fresh sand.

As you mentioned that, you took this sand form Reef. It was NLS( Natural Live Sand). Is it?

Well,

This is highly recommended not to sock NLS with fresh tab or RODI water, it lost all it's beneficial part, which is billion of bacteria, which help to develop biological filtration in the system. What you did is totally right"¦..

Your skimmer got nut because of dust pollution in the water column. You should stop the skimmer for one or two hours, even circulation for little time to just settle down a big part of your sand to the bottom, than you can restart the circulation and protein skimmer to take out rest of the stuff. But it require a lot of observation, that time your fish can be dead because of suffocation and Redox (oxidation-reduction)level.

Yes it is natural live sand, taken by the reef side.

The mistake is not to clean it by shaking the sand when pick it up while still at the reef side. At least when do that the dust will go away and I get clean sand.

The skimmer now look slow down a bit and the water more clearer. I need to blasts the dust on the rock, I need do slowly other wise the water getting cloudy again.

The water looked clear.
New additional coral, please ID this coral please, I'm not good in naming coral.

New up-date.
New toy is coming.
I received led light that I order from Hong Kong. I wait this light to come almost 1 month. I have few problems with UPS and Malaysia Custom due to note from the seller, it stated, "œgive" at the parcel. After few e-mail and phone call to UPS finally the parcel been release from custom holding area without pay any tax. I have to used Malaysia address due very high tax here in Brunei for the lighting, it about 25% compare to Malaysia 10%.
The light is Key Aquarium LED Lighting - Led 36 Wide - 2 units.

The packing is not very good.

Too bad that koi pond couldnt have been used as a huge sump with all kinds if cool macro algaes and mangroves.

Yas, that is the 1st think I though when I inspect this house. I wanted to make the tank look like floating on top of the pond. But after I move in I found the pond got crack and leaked. I did ask the owner to repair, but he needs to take out the whole floor and rebuild new floor. That is not possible seen I already move in.
