Longevity with sandbed?

No wars here please !

I ordered an Aquapod 24 and it is at home waiting for me to return and setup. I intend to run an approximate 2" sandbed. Assuming a relatively stable system ... what is the average length of time one can expect from a nano with a semi-shallow sandbed ? About the best I have seen so far is 2 1/2 years but this is probably not the norm from what I have read.
Again... I AM going with a sandbed so no bb/dsb/ssb wars please.

Thanks all,

mike

OK, I see this might have been worded a little better. I realize that the AP has not been around that long. What I am interested in here is feedback from those that have had a sandbed in, say, a 20 gallonish tank. Let me know how long you have been up and running.

10 gallon for 3 1/2 years with 2" in the front and 4" in the back (The AC 300 keeps pushing the fine stuff to the back  ) and trouble free.

BTW, there's no skimmer or mechanical filtration.

Excellent Agu, and thanks. You're making me feel better about this already. Anybody else care to contribute?

As long as you keep up with your maintenance and get a decent cleaning crew you should be able to go indefinitaly. I have a 16 bowfront with about the same amount of sand as Agu set up for a year and haven't had any problems with weekly water chasnges and my clean up crew.
