Hey guys just wanted your input on what meds work or have worked for pop eye in your fish or specificaly a longnose butterfly. I finally realized what my guy has...
I had my qt running for quite some time with a peice of squid decaying in there. I checked it tonite to prepare for this fish and my ammonia was spiked at 8... So I did a 98% waterchange and the ammonia is down. I wanted to know if you guys would assume the tank has cycled or not? Since the change I am reading almost no amonia, 0 nitrites and nitrates. Kind of screwed up start for the qt i suppose..
Should I dump everything get a new filter pad/sponge and restart the cycle process or what? Problem is that I would like to get the fish out of the tank asap so that I can treat with some sort of medication.
