longnose hawkfish and cleaner shrimp

my fish have ich execpe my longnose hawkfish. i read that cleaner shrimp can get rid of the ich on the fish(not sure if true). can i keep my juvinile longnose hawk with cleaner shrimp? i no they eat meat. that is why i am asking. i dont no. thanks, andrew

Keep the longnose fed! Some people get lucky and they live together fine for years, others aren't so lucky. I have a red spotted hawk & a cleaner they get along fine, for now. The cleaner was introduced to clean a parasite off my angel and did a great job! He is getting a raise. It is worth a try if you can't catch your fish to treat them, but.................. know you are taking a chance.

wow gosh i had an instant where out of NOWHERE my hawk after i was feeding it ghost shrimps it kept DASHING at my shrimp..... i had to remove it feed it decently and it stopped its habbit. its my favorite fish.

I have a flame hawk that ate the eyes out of my cleaner shrimp. (shrimp didn't live long after that) I still haven't tried to catch the hawk to get rid of him. I kinda don't want to get rid of the hawk, but my daughter loved having the shrimp ( a Nemo thing). She'll probably win and i'll have to try to catch him.
