What are three most important things that aquarists should look for in a complete "œplug n' play" aquarium system?

Define plug in play? Do you mean "all in one"? No sump?

By complete, I mean lighting, filter and display tank integrated into one system, not a kit of separate components.

Ok. They are typical marketed as "All in one" tanks. I would use that term to do your research. Personally I would want a traditional setup with a sump as you are stuck with the space you have with an all in one tank.

not an all in one. But a plug n play.

the stand hold the ATO reservoir. the sump is contained and enclosed for maximum silence. So quiet i keep them off so i can see the awesome sump refugium critter, macro algaes, and corals.!

the light is on a pvc stand so it is easy to lift light off for dusting.

the water making RODI unit is the only thing that isnt ALL in one but you could trade that in for a year of premix at a LFS maybe**???

not sure about the sump in the stand issue, guess I am thinking more "all in one"

which ones do you like best? Why?
