look like an ich outbreak.. not good

the only bad thing is the 75g isnt cycled and i cant use media from the dt. i will have to keep a close eye on things.

i will just do a fishless cycle with ammonia. last time it only took 2 weeks to completely cycle. then i did a 50% w/c and all was good.

But with tank transfer, using Prime or equivalent will work just fine. Remember you are throwing away the water and only keeping fish there in three day intervals.

i understand that. i was refering to cycle the 75g that will have to hold fish for 8 weeks. im thinking it would be better to cycle that tank.

the 75g holding tank is up and running. i added a little bit of aragonite sand and a few decorations for hiding places. i used 2 emporer 400's and an aquac remora hob skimmer for filtration. i had to set it up on the garage so i used 2-400w heaters. its still a little chilly here in ny at night. also hooked up ato with 20gal ro/di storage.

i added 30 drops of pure ammonia to start the cycle. brought it to 2ppm. hopfully 2 weeks to cycle. i was going to add some media from my nano tank which im 99% sure it is disease free. i only have 1 tomato clown and a mantis shrimp .

im all ready for tank transfers. 32g brute cans with about 25galllons in them. temps and s.g. match dt. im going to attempt to remove all the fish tonight. with luck i wont have to drain the main tank down. but i have 2 55g containers ready if i have to. id like do all the fish in 1 shot.

all i am using in the rubbermaid containers are a heater and air stone. is that going to be ok?

i did end up adding some seeded sponges to my 75 holding tank from my clean nano tank. im already seeing 1ppm nitrite in the system and is reducing the ammo. good sign. ive been adding 8 drops ammo daily to maintain 1-2ppm. should be ready for fish in less then 2 weeks.

I just finished removing all the fish. Took me 5 hour to complete everything. I'm totally exhausted. I had to remove all the water and 1/2 of the rockwork. Was not fun but got it done. I took this opportunity to restack the rock the way I wanted and add some new sand. It turned out nice.

The fish seem to be doing fine but I doubt I will sleep well.

Yes my PVC wants to float. Odd.

im wondering how much i should feed. even though i have over 25gal in the bucket i noticed this morning there was some ammo showing. i added some prime to detoxify.i only fed once last night a little this morning. im worried a little. they have to stay in there until friday morning, or should i transfer them thursday night?

should i only feed once per day and add prime every day? then feed more before the transfer?

should i do any waterchanges? i would guess no.
