Look what I found in my tank

I am trying to make room for some new corals, so I am moving, trimming, scraping, fragging, and breaking stuff in my tank today (sale thread tomorrow for whatever doesn't fit back in). I turned over a rock and saw a shiny gray spotted sheet of ooze work its way into a hole.

azrednex was over and helped me hammer the rock apart to find out what it was. He thought it looked like an octopus (and it did!) until we finally poured it out of the rock like a ball of snot.

It has a wound in the center from poking at it with tweezers. It is a polyclad flatworm (do a google search if you are curious).

I do not know enough about it to put it back in the tank. It has to have been in there for the last year, I haven't bought live rock since last may. They are carnivorous and may eat snails? If anyone wants it, come and get it. The cup is 3.5 inches across the bottom:

Sorry about the huge pictures:

I poked the hole and I feel bad about it. It's hard to get something off of a rock, especially if it has the consistancy of a piece of flan :)

Are you going to stop in to see it Jesse? :D It is real cool in person.

I feel bad flushing it, but I don't know what else to do with it.

Maybe you can put it in your fuge? I would think it would be fine there since you have seen no problems with it in your main. Too bad Dr. Ron is no longer here.

I wish i could have him. but I would be afraid to put him in my fuge, if he split or got ripped in 1/4 there would be more.

small species tank perhaps? pets inc has pico's on sale for $45. not sure if that would be the best environment for it, but surely it would be better than the toilet bowl! :p

Here is a strange thing in my tank. I think it is a snail of sorts. Anyone ever see one of these? I only see it with actinics or no lights. It has stayed in the same spot forever.

Hey, maybe you should post the pic in the invert forum. That Leslie seems to know her stuff. Don't flush it!!!
