Looking at 250 watt Metal Halides

Can any of you point me in the right direction. I am looking to upgrade my lights from 120 watt PC to 250 watt MH. I am looking for a good price and energy efficient, if that is possible. I would like to stay under $300, and a fellow reefer suggested Sunlight Supply Reef Optix III Plus 250W Pendant, a Blue Wave 1 250W Ballast Pulse Start, and with a bulb that should keep me under $300, just wanted to know if theyre were any other suggestions.

IMO that is a great choice Jeff.
I just bought the ROIII pendants w/ SLS ballast & Pheonix 14k bulbs myself.
After lots of reading between electronic vs. mag ballast I opted to go with the mag just due to the higher output you get. I am very pleased with the lighting upgrade I made and was absolutely stunned when I first turned them on!

I have to say that is a good price but I have looked harder for bargains than anyone and this is what I have done.
250watt electronic ballast from affordablelighting $80

reflector from hello lights $30

I got my bulb off ebay, 2 for $30

I guess in the end you only save about $35 but hey, I'm the king of cheap as I am a student. I also must say that the ballasts and reflector are great, the bulbs on the other hand, one is great and the other one is a tad yellow. hopefully it will burn in. Anyways, if your on a VERY strict budget, this will save you a few bucks
