Hey Steve! I have a bit of the mag flake - the good stuff. (trying the 2 part myself). You are more than welcome to have some free of charge.
BTW, is there a trick to getting the baking soda to stay dissolved in water? I wanted to do an auto dosing system for it but it never fully dissolves no mater how long I stir it?!?!
Awesome thanks Mike!
I'll give you a call when I'm back in town.
If you are tslking about Randys mix then it worked fine for me. I just heated the water in the microwave. This disolved it in like 2 hours of shaiking the bottle every once and a while.
I find that if you bake the baking soda, and stir the it in a little at a time it's much easier to get it to dissolve into solution. I have only noticed a very small amount of sediment doing it this way.
Have any of you guys noticed a little bit of orangish sediment in your CA part after it sits for awhile? The last couple of batches I have done had this. Someone in the chem. forum told me it's probably manganese precipitating out, I think it might be related to my RO/DI membranes needing to be changed.
Thanks Mihn, I'll try and snag some at Mike's since he's closer
I'll let ya know if I do need some though.
Mothra, Hoh yeah I'm a huge fan of Randys 3 part mix. I just need the stuff to complete the other two mixes.
I made up both baked and non-baked and use acordingly in my tank. I have never had anythigng appear at the bottom yet? Yeah you may want to change out your RO stuff. Did you see Mihn's thread on his 2 year old stuff!?!?!?
That was crazy
