Looking for a 125g tank/stand

It is time to give the FW fishies a larger home...they are looking cramped in the 40g tank. My clown loaches are getting bigger all the time and they told me to get them a larger tank.

I have a 40g long I can trade with someone or sell if I get the 125g tank...or does anyone know of a store that sells this tank/stand combo on sale?

Thanks,

Dave

There is a 135 in a driveway over in Ballwin with a for sale sign on it. The sign says 200 but talking to people at the house, found out the son is moving back home and mom doesn't want it in the house so I'll bet 100 bucks will take it. Not a great stand, it's a dull finish dark stained one. The plastic cap on top has a crack which would have to be removed, superglued and put back on. Also there is a chip in the middle of the back glass which would work well if you put a closed loop hole right there or even built the overflow and used that spot for the hole. It does also have a large cannister filter, some wierd looking light top (freshwater). A bunch of parts like a manifold plumbing out of pvc at the bottom and eggrate etc.

On that chip, he was using it for years with it and on freshwater I guess it would be ok but I'd be too nervous with thousands of dollars inside on a reef. But if you're using it for fresh maybe you wouldn't worry about it.

I believe the TWP will be having an All GLass blowout sale on tank and stand combos. I believe it will be on the 15th., 16th. and 17th.

According to the info I have a 125 tank and stand combo will be $499.00

You can find more info on the website as soon as I verify the dates and we get Mark to put it up.

Thanks, Roy! I am leary of used tanks unless I know their history and I am a bit of a neat freak, so old, used tanks don't do it for me:D

I will give TWP a call...they are usually bottom line on tanks and when they give additional sales promotions are tough to beat!

Some info is up on the website for them already.

Mark,

Unless I sent you the wrong info I think those are the August specials.

I called TWP and their price for tank and stand was $530+change.

I also called Pet Market Place (they used to be competitive), their price was over $700.00  I guess their bargains on tanks are now a thing of the past too:rolleyes: Not like I go there for anything other than the occasional pig ear for the dog anyway.

I *think* Petco is having a $1/gallon sale on tanks until this Saturday...maybe check there?

On the SEASL thread, someone mentioned that it was only 10-55g tanks though:(

nanook you might want to try petco anyway as i have read here and other places that pretty much everything including oceanic , corner and bowfronts are ringing up 1 a gallon

Could always try a glasscages tank.. They also sell stands at a good price.

Hoping to order my 180 from them really soon. But I'm building my own stand, and canopy.

The clown loach is one of my favorit fish..

Good idea, Lonnie! Glasscages has a 135g tank that is 6ft long that will fit the bill quite nicely!

dave

If you don't like waiting until Oct you might try MS... when I was tank shopping last fall they were cheaper than TWP. (Petopia had a sale through their distributor and was significantly cheaper than both, but of course they are extinct now.)

Did you ever end up going with a new tank?

Getting ready to order my 180 in the next couple of days.

I have not yet...how much is the 180g tank setting you back?

I might order something in the line of a 5-6ft 150-180g if the price is not too high.

dave

My 180 is going to cost $540.

72 x 24 x 25 tall glass aquarium $440.00
Back wall overflow and 2 holes $ 75.00
Black acrylic overflow cover. $ 30.00
Total Cost is $ 540.00

Last time it was a $75 delivery fee.
