Looking for a cheap 30+ gallon tank locally.

Well the bug hit hard. Started my 14g and already starting to make the wish list for tank#2. I'd like to piece things together to save some money and spread the spending out over time. I figured I would throw it out there to my local reefers to see if anyone has a tank sitting around they want to part with before I start scrolling through craigslist.

Looking for something in the neighborhood of 40-50 gallons but if the tank was right I would go down to something as small as 30g. I would really like something square or basically different than your standard breeder tank.

Yeah I'm still kicking it around. I'm just really not a huge fan of the footprint. I guess it's always something I can switch later on down the road though.

I do like the way they look, but for one of two spaces that I would like to put it in, its either too tall or too short.

Getting desperate for something... Basically my dilemma is that I would like to run a sump on a tank in the 35-60g range so I can just transfer all my livestock and rock over to and and have it up and running. My current tank doesn't have a stand or overflow, so in order to do so I'm looking in the $300 range on the very cheap end of things.. I see great deals on take downs all the time so I guess I'm just waiting it out.

I have a 35G. It is not drilled or reef ready but I do have an over flow box that i used with out issue for about a year before I set up my new tank. There is some silicone in the bottom that would need to be cleaned off, I used is as a sump. I have no stand for it, but if you can build stuff you could make a 2x4 frame for it pretty cheap. I think the dimensions are 12x30x30

Thanks but I'm really trying to avoid building a stand. I don't have the time to do so right now, or the tools and such. I looked into it and it just seems that after buying materials that I might as well put that money towards a used tank with stand..

Dude all this yet you were only offering me $100 for my stand and 40? I was selling you an almost complete system and would even finish the sump at no charge all for $300. I have way more than $750 invested in this system. You were not just low balling me with that price. I was even going to include the skimmer and my RO/DI system. I think you need to get your priorities and mind straight before you set up a new tank sorry if this sounds harsh a bit but I'm not having the best of days.

There must have been a miscommunication between us cause I never knew you had a skimmer, or rodi unit, or that you would have been willing to finish the sump. I was under the impression you just had the tank, stand, salt and lights, in which case all I wanted was the tank and stand, so while my offer might have been low I think it was somewhat inline with what a drilled breeder and stand goes for. With that said, I'm gonna shoot you a text, maybe we can work something out.
