looking for a diagnosis and possible cure

It's a Heralds Angel. I got him about 3 weeks ago. Have had him in QT ever since. After a few days in QT when he started to eat and look happy I started Hypo just to be on the safe side. I lowered the salt very slowly over 2 days to 1.009. He was fine for about a week and then started showing what looked to be a brownish red growth on his left pectoral fin. A day or so later another one formed on his forehead. I will say he was stressed during this time as my ammonia and trites went up a little from over-feeding. Thinking it was possibly a bacterial infection I started to dose API triple sulfa. Also out of fear that the Hypo might have caused some sort of hemorrahging I started to slowly raise the salt level in the tank. A few days after the spots first appeared they started to cover over in a white covering. Recently the one on the pectoral fin has gotten bigger to the point were the fish can't really use that fin. For about the last week I've had all perameters in check. He's been eating well the whole time. Mostly frozen formula 2 soaked in zoe, vita-chem and garlic. I've searched the internet up and down and still have yet to find any marine disease, either bacterial, viral, or fungal that looks like this. Any help wood be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Rob

lymphocystis?

(viral...fish equivalent of a cold...usualy caused by stress, poor water, or poor diet.....but looks like you have your bases covered so i dont know)

The brownish red description does sound bacterial in nature. I'd suggest switching antibiotics to Nitrofuran or SW Maracyn II, either of those will be more effective against a wider range of bacteria than the sulfa.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the SW Marycin II as suggested. As for having my basis covered 95accord, yeah I do now but there was a few day period where my levels went up. I'm sure that provided just enough stress to allow this to happen. On the flip side of this, however he got this, I'm sure glad I QT all my livestock. I don't know how I'd be dealing w/ this in my DT.
Thanks again!
Rob
