looking for a mantis shrimp

hi, just wondering if any of you all had the low down one where to find mantis shrimps, my local pet stores do not carry them or special order. most of the web sites i have found that sell mantis shrimps charge way way too much for these guys and to add overnight shipping is killer. so any help from somebody willing to sell a shrimp or can point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Be on the Forums at the right time is all I can really say. If you want one really really bad then call the LFS around the state or close nieghbor states and see if they can order them or ever get them on there live rock. I got pretty lucky getting mine I just happened to see the post first and jumped on it. The wife was not too thrilled about me doing it without asking but now she can't stop looking at him. im in the same boat, i just searching forums (especially this one), waiting for a break like j got. ive had a couple people tell me they will send me one but something always prevents it. one ended up in a return pump, one cracked a plastic container and dried himself out, and the other just disappeared....hmmm. well, im still looking.

Hey H2O there is a store here in Chas. that can order peakocks if you interested. I think they run about 30.

i have a 10 gallon set up. i was looking for an N. Weenerae, or other small N. species. thats a good idea, if i dont find anything soon, ill be all over that. im trying to be patient now, but am getting close to making other arrangements.

I have a N weenerae and I might think about doing a trade if you run across a peakock or a large species. here is my yahoo photo's he is in the fish folder I have only had him a couple weeks. photos.yahoo.com/jchough79
