ok so i h ave a cheap skimmer that has been fine for the last 2 years cause i dont have much bioload. and this month's budget is going for a few corals but either dec or january's budget i will be needing a new skimmer. i have a couple ones i have found that dont look bad but i really know nothing about skimmers lol.

bubble magus for $155
Octopus internal only $175
vertex skimmer $190

if yall have any other suggestions let me know as well. thanks guys and gals.
Chris

I just bought a Reef Octopus in sump and it was missing pieces so I have not been able to install yet. I have a friend with one and it seems to work very well for him.

PSK-150 footprint?

PSK-150 footprint?

Does anyone know the exact footprint dimensions for the psk-150? Everything I've found on-line indicates the width is 6 inches, but that's exactly how much space I have to work with in the sump. It's a 75 gallon display, so the 100 would probably work and fit. Would I risk the potential of over skimming with the 150?: :bum:

Hey yeah I am also now looking at the psk-150. If I dont go with a vertex skimmer that is. but with all those good reviews it's hard to not think about getting it.
But i also have a 75g and i didnt even know you could "overskim" lol
Let me know.
Thanks,
Chris

Oh yeah, the eshopps dont have a bubble plate that some of the nicer models have. how necessary is it to have? I know it helps but how much? Is there any way to DIY a bubble plate maybe?
Thanks for the help.
