Looking for a quality stand to fit a 75 Gallon tank

My buddy called me last night and told me he was tearing down his 75 gallon from his bathroom, and offered the tank to me. I'm all for it, but I need to find a stand first. I don't want to go to the local PetCo to pick up a cheap one, I'd like something that looks a little nicer than the ones they have on display...

If you have one that's cluttering up your area, and want it gone, let me know. I'm hoping to do this asap. Thanks

Yeah, he has a 90 in the front entrance, 75 in the bathroom, and a 75 sump in the basement. It is a really nice setup, but he's wanting to concentrate more on the 90 now.

Why not build your own? So both the tanks were linked to the same sump? That would be an interesting setup if they were on opposite ends of the house. How has your tank been doing by the way?

I would rather buy one for two reasons - one, it would be cheaper than starting from scratch, and two, time is a factor. He's wanting it gone within a week or so. He hasn't torn it down just yet, once I'm ready for it, we'll start. It's already established, and I'll be receiving the tank, canopy, water, live sand, and a 30 gallon sump.

The way he has it setup is the 75 gallon sump is in the basement, the 90 is directly above it on the first floor, and the 75 Oceanic that I'm getting is on the second floor.

My tank's doing great since the move to Shadyside. Everything survived, which surprised me. Thanks for asking. How's everything been going for you?

Great. Everything is growing well. Corals seem to be pretty resilliant to having their habitat's torn apart and moved (at least in the aquarium environment...the coral reefs can be a different matter.) I was assuming the tank would be on the 1st floor. If you got one of the pine stands from the pet store, that would be pretty good...I just wouldn't go for the laminated particle board stands....

I actually moved to Shadyside, OH, from St. Clairsville, OH, about 15 minutes east, moved from an apartment to my first home. I'm directly across the river from Wheeling, WV now.

Oops sorry I just assumed Shadyside, a section of Pittsburgh. Congrats on your first home!!......even if it is in Ohio..., sorry couldn't resist...:D

I have an unused DIY 75 gallon OAK stand that is extremely overbuilt... When I say extremely... I mean it. The stand weights maybe 150-200 pounds. It is oak trim/skin built around a 4x4 frame.

BeanAnimal, your inbox is full... I've got another stand that I'm looking at now, but if you could send me pics and what you're asking, I would appreciate it.

I will see what I can dig up. It is in my brother's basement. Inbox satys full, I can't keep up with the PMs. I have a gmail address, it is beananimal@
