Looking for a sea hare

Mike, i don't have one, but I'm curious why do you need one for?

I was thinking to use one to control my hair algae outbreak, but online the info is confusing. Some say that is good for hair algae and others say that is good to control caulerpa outbreaks. Moreover I'm a bit scared of its toxins. Do you know how easy a sea hare would releases them?

So far I was able to keep the algae in check by controlling the nutrients, pulling it out and having a few herbivorous snails and fish. Just that it never goes away completely ...

Thanks!

A sea hare is good for almost all alge. If the sea hare dies then it'll release toxins. Try calling your lfs sometimes they have them for sale or rent. Or look into your nutrient load as that's almost always the problem.

I saw a few for sale at Dolphin Pet Willage in Campbell. They're pretty big, 3-4". I was not sure if they are the right solution for me. So far I'm working on reducing the nutrients. Will see how that goes...

I was gonna use one for hair algae. I cleaned my tank today and got some of it but i still have enough for a sea hare to go at.

Did you ever get a sea hare? I got one a few weeks back. It cleaned my tank pretty good. Now it's in the fuge, dealing with some hair algae I had tangled in my plumbing & on the sand. I will probably have to give it away in short time or he will run out of food. LMK if you need it, free of charge.
