I am looking for a small tang to add to my system it is only a 60G so I know I will eventually need to swap it with someone or a store to keep it small in the tank but I was looking for a Powder Blue, or a Blue, or a Yellow, or a nasso blonde male or a sohal tang. Anyone who has seen any of these at local stores for a decent price or is looking to get rid of one cheap let me know.

Thanks
Kevin

I was at Something Fishy is Fox Lake about 2 weeks ago and was suprised at the number of tangs they had. Some were on the small side. Also all the fish looked very healthy, if I was looking for another fish I'd buy one from them. Worth checking out if your close enough.

Northern Burb, next to Grayslake, I think it's Route 59 that cuts through Fox Lake.
Price wise they might not be the best though. I thought they were in the $50's, maybe $40's for the yellows. Not sure if that's a good price.

Dave at Oceans Floor had a great baby purple tang this weekend. Not on you list, but a great fish. Jim at Coral Paradise has some nice small yellow tangs too.

I bought a quarter size Scopas Tang at The Living Seas, They have the largest selection I've ever seen as far as fish go.. a bit on the expensive side, but have very rare and different kinds of fish.

i saw a couple yellow at aquatic reef today. they are about 2-3 inches, i think. they also have a 3-4 inches naso.

even small the PB Sochol and Nasso need bigger tanks

I have to agree with Joe on this one. I got a Hepatus tang in May. It was no more than 1". It is now easily 3.5". I don't know when the growth rate will slow.

You may be ok with a yellow, but I'd stick with a kole.

The suggestion for the Kole tang was a good one. They are one of the smaller tangs and are quite peaceful with other tankmates.

I have seen yellows and Kole's at Deep Reef in Downers Grove for $25 - $29 as recently as last week. The Regal (Blue) tangs are coming in with a higher price tag, somewhere around $60. Give them a call to check the latest shipments.

Just my oppinion here, but of the fish you have listed above the yellow and possibly the Regal (be ready to trade/sell it in 6 months) are really the only ones you should try to keep in a tank that size and only if you can get small ones to start. The others either grow too rapidly (Naso) or require a larger swim space even when small (PBT and Sohol). Additionally you will have compatability issues with both the PBT and the Sohol with any other fish you have - both of these fish are very aggressive even as small juveniles and will bully the other fish.

If you come across a small (1.5 - 2 inch) Scopas Tang in your search, let me know. That is the last fish I am looking to add to my reef.

I knew that would be everyones response and I agree with the PB and the Naso and Sohal they are just too aggresive and grow to fast for my 60. The only other fish in the tank are the two current fish, a clown and a six line. I am not a huge fan of the Kole just based on how plane they look. So I am leaning towards a small Blue or a small Yellow.

FWIW my kole beats the heck out of the hepatus.

It is anything but plain looking, but that is of course subjective.

Ostrow is your Kole blue or burgendy? Anyone seen a think it is a HI Kole which is the blue color instead of the burgandy. If anyone has seen one let me know where and a price please.

Burgundy. You can find them with blue spots (I've never heard of a blue one) ... those are the ones I saw when I was in Hawaii. I've seen them at Deep Reef before, too.
