Does anyone have a Koralia 2 or 3 for sale? I'm not sure which would work better in my 30, and I'd like to try either one, so if you've got one for sale, please let me know. Thanks

i dont have 1 for sale but ive got a tip about the k2 and k3. the k2 and k3 are the same size and the impellers can be changed around. so if u get a k2 and its not enough flow u can switch it with a k3 impeller. just email hydor and they will send u one. ive been running my k2 with a k3 impeller for 4-6 month without any problems.

The 3 will probably be too much for a 30 gal, imho. I'm looking to downgrade my 3 to a 2: it's too powerful to position well in my 55 so it doesn't cause too much stuff blowing around.

Thanks for the suggestion... I haven't had experience with anything but the nano, so I was hoping someone would point me in the right direction.

It's hard to say: personally, some of my problems with my 3 being too much for my 55 (and my 1 being too little) come from my rock placement: it's very hard to position the 3 so it's not blowing soft corals too hard (oddly, it often ends up blowing them hard towards the fan rather than away). But a different arrangement might make all the difference.

Maybe try getting a 3, and then seeing how it does in your tank before getting 2 4s. If you end up needing the 2 4s after all, there's a million ways that 3 can come in handy (for instance, breaking up the flow from the 4s even more)

I have a 75gal with (2) #3's, (1) #4 and a flow accelerator on my return. It works out perfect and nothing settles on the bottom.

I have a k2 in my 30. I like it, but it seems to be lacking just little. I bought a k3 for my 30 and it is just way too much.

Yeah, it's weird. You'd think that going from 600 to 800 gph wouldn't make that much difference, but it does. I have sand halfway across the tank steadily rolling up into a mountain even with the fan pointed upwards.

On the upside, the flow profile is great for such cheap products. It really is very broad and complex, especially when two fans blow at each other. I get random gusts coming and going all around the tank.
