looking for an anemone

I had to move my big toadstool to the frag tank due to the maroon clown loving it to the point where it will no longer open in the 180. Now he wants to host in my paly grandis and is irritating them to the point of hardly opening. I wish he would host in the gsp but for some reason he doesn't. So I figure a nem may be the answer?

Unless your water quality, lighting, flow, etc is on point, you might want to wait. They are quite finicky in general and move around (a lot) if they're not happy, having a tendency to kill things as they go. Whats worse is they can get stuck in a powerhead; die and nuke the whole tank. Thats why I didn't add one, even though I really like them :(

If you do, you'd have to go with a big one if your maroon clown is beating stuff up...

Tanks is well established and water parameters are stable, the clown isn't really beating anything up, just hangs out on stuff to the point they won't open. I definitely don't want to nuke the tank though.

Like I said it would have to be a big nem, he'd make a smaller one just as annoyed as any coral. Not sure what your best bet would be nem wise, but I remember reading a thread on a smaller nem getting destroyed by a maroon...

That is a bummer because we have had this clown for about 4 years and I know he isn't going anywhere the kids would never stand for me getting rid of him. I may have to build some eggcrate cages to keep him out of certain things.

I agree with Chad my maroon beats up my Rbta pretty bad but I've had my nem for almost 3 years now and he found a perfect rock the first night and hasn't moved. On the other hand my carpet moves a lot but stays in the sand bed but my black clowns don't think about hosting it

I have gbtas that have been going for 4 years, splitting regularly, and haven't moved much at all. I also added an rbta 2 months ago and has moved an inch from where I put him. Nems don't always move is all I'm saying.
