Like this, only use two float switches, one as a safety to open the circuit when the water level is too high.

I bought both of mine from aquahub... think I gave about $35 for each, plus the cost of an extension cord and a small pump. Not sure if that's what you consider cheap, but it's money well spent for me.

the ones on aquahub are exactly what i was looking for... does anyone know if the maxijet 600 pumps are quiet? i dont want something loud waking me up at night as it will be in my bed room
