Looking for an old thread

I can't remember the user name of the poster, but it was about a 1300-1500gal aquarium, in wall build with fish room behind it. I remember the tank was 15 feet long, had a clam die early on and he said it made his ORP spike, I believe he made some of the rock and had lots of little rock islands instead of one giant wall of rock. Originally he had a stingray in there too.

Oh, also he took the tank offline and turned it into a reptile or amphibian habitat after 2-3 years.

Anyone remember this thread or user? I've been looking for a while.

There was a guy with a large tank in Colorado who later turned it into a huge terrarium. Is that the one you're thinking of?

;)

I remember the pictures. It was an enormous tank, about 1000 gallons at least. But I've given you all I can remember, that it was in Colorado. It was several years ago. I don't remember the thread name or user-id.

And that's only if we are talking about the same thread, which we might not be.

Ah, I'm on the same page now.

this one? Pretty sure he turned it into a paludarium/viavrium?

YES! Thank you so much.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of. Good job, reefstricken!

The difference between a terrarium and vivarium is too small for me to grasp, and if it doesn't have corals in it doesn't hold my atten... Oh look! Dendronephthyas!

:), well played.

I've spent plenty of time on the dendro and plantedtank sites, I nearly got to setting up a thumbnail tank but there's ultimately no comparison and i'm not really into bugs that can get out into our environment. I did see energys build on one of the sites and remember the totm, happy to help.

Cheers,

(now back to building my reef)
