i checked with home depot and they told me they would not be able to make it so does anyone know where i can get some at

I'm going to paint the back of my new tank also. Trying to decide on color. I'm thinking I want a really dark blue. Do you have any pics of yours David? Do you like it or would you go with some other color if you could do it again?

WalMart carries Krylon Fusion.
Lowe's carries Rustoleum for plastic, and Valspar for plastic.
Any of those will work fine.

And there you have it lol .... Paint away chris just the Back of the tank k .. not the inside of the tank :0) Sorry couldn't help myself lol hahahahaah ..kick jim for it later

Use multi-surface Rustoleum Universal

Use multi-surface Rustoleum Universal

It is used to paint glass. Don't go cheap, on something you'll only do ONCE; provided you do it right the first time.

There are many colors, including blue. You could actually use multiple layers of different color to affect a more coraline texture.

Process:
I washed thoroughly inside & out with tap water & a new sponge, the exterior was masked off and wiped down with Windex and a non-woven cloth, then sprayed.

Rustoleum's new Universal (glass adhering) Satin Black (one can) covered and provided three coats.

I used their Textured paint on the PVC Plastic return loop lines and stand pipe drain too:

Correct. DRIED paint is inert, provided its fully cured. For anything INSIDE the tank, make sure you wipe down (whatever you're shooting) with a good prep-solution and knock down the sheen on anything glossy, to increase the paints adhesion, IF you're inside the tank. (Obviously, that’s not the issue if you're spraying the tank (outside) back panel.
