Looking for Brighter Colors on SPS

Thanks :) That is a red planet in the front. The based turned greenish, but not as well as I'd like.

As for the lights, there were only like 6-8 inches above the water, and I was having problems with sps dying and some zoas melting. I moved them up to about 16 inches above the water, and everything immediately turned around, and all my greens came back.

Not neccesarily related to this subject, but I ordered some nicely colored stuff today. FINALLY got an efflo frag and some other really nice stuff from Copps. Can't wait til Friday :)

I still say try adding some intense supplemental lighting, some T5s or blue LEDs.... orrrrr my favorite VHOs still ;) nothin like a VHO for popping some colors!

I don't know if I read it right but if you are only running the mh's your corals would benefit colorwise from an actinic supplement in the reddish purple range like geissman true actinics. I think you have the blues covered with the 14 kk mh's.

With my setup, its hard to just add actinics because my fixtures hang from the ceiling to help keep the clean look. I honeslty plan to move to Reeflux 12k bulbs the beginning of the year, althought I'm tempted to keep the 14k Phoenix on there for some color. I've been pretty happy with them, as I've generally kept stuff under those 12ks.

I did just order some different carbon to replace the ROX, and ordered some Elos Amino Acids to try out. Going to start very light with them and see what happens.
