Looking For Bulk Heads :-P

I usually end up ordering my dual threaded bulkheads off ebay. I'll get the slip ones at the LFS though. They never seem to carry the threaded ones.

yeah. I prefer the threaded ends though. That lets me screw PVC into them and mess around with standpipe height in my breeding tanks.

those are slip fittings. You have to glue the pvc into the insides of the bulkheads. thread fittings have threads on the inside of the bulkhead to screw a PVC adapter in.

Although, for your use, you probably don't have to glue the pvc in. You may be able to just stick the pvc in. It's not like it has to be water tight right?

ahh i see the difference :-)

water tight nope lol but i wont use PVC ill use rubber tubing so i can see activity in the tubes. ill simply slide it on and use the metal claps to keep them on tight, those things that have the screw and u tighten it. stupid me cant think of the name :-P

You may want to come up with a backup plan in case you find that you can't drill those. I've used those containers and would expect it to be pretty hard to drill them cleanly. Hopefully it works fine, but if it doesn't you may be able to make holes using a hot glue gun tip to melt holes then attach some sort of fitting or bulkhead, I've built insect cages like that in the past.

Can't wait to see more pictures as the project develops!

I would suggest using a drill press if you or a good friend have one. They always make the job easier.
