Looking for chaeto

Hello,
I live in Mountain View and am looking to buy some good chaeto cheap. I'm also looking for advice on what kind of lighting I should use to help the chaeto grow. I heard of a light you can get at Home depot but forgot the size and wattage so I am ooking for advice.

I was growing mine in a 30g tank with a 65 w pc bulb over it and it had screaming growth.. Probably gaining 50% volume every two weeks

Thanks fishnfst. Is that 65 w bulb something I can get at Home depot or is that a complete lighting system? I know I've seen it posted where someone was using one of those lights with a clamp on the end and that is what I would like to try.

That works well also. I was using a 65w retrofit screws to a 2x4.. Total diy setup

Alot of guys just buy the clamp on shop lights with a 25w spiral power compact bulb.. Works quite well also.. There are a ton of spiral power compacts just look for something plant friendly 6000k to 8800k.. Will give you crazy growth

I use a 27W (I think) compact fluourescent bulb that is shaped like those conical spotlight bulbs. I bought it at Home Depot. Honestly, chaeto probably grows under most lights that a regular house plant would.

If you want some chaeto, pm me. I work in Sunnyvale and I can give you some chaeto ... free! You just gotta come by sometime and I'll give you a baggy of it.

I glow mines with a 27w plant light. I had a 65w home depot light before but I think the 27w work just as good.

I have some of Melev's favorite bulbs. 19 watt. I can sell you one and give you a small piece of cheato. Unfortunatly, I just pruned it and tossed most of it so the piece would be small.. baseball size.
