Looking For Chaeto

Hey, what is chaeto good for??? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am assuming it is a macro algae for refugium, is this right? If so, what is better chaeto or Caulupera (sp?).

yes, it helps keep the water clean by removing nitrites (or nitrates.. i forget which is last in the cycle) and most people do keep it in the fuge because its an eyesore in the tank, but it will do the same thing there.

No idea which is better though.

Cheato has a couple advantages over Caulerpa.

1) It doesn't anchor itself in the sandbed and to the rockwork, so it's easy to deal with if it is in your display tank (See Wavers for Details :) )

2) It doesn't need to be lighted 24/7 like Caulerpa (which tends to release all of it's crap back into the water when the lights are out, making it appear clear instead of green).
