Looking for Equipment

Mel,

I've got around 100 lbs. of live rock that's been cooking in my basement for a year and a half. (sitting in a brute can of water w/ powerheads)

It's from my original 75 gallon setup and much of it is DIY.

If you'd like, I can weigh it up and snap some pictures for you. Price will be extremely cheap.

Let me know.

Scott, Will send you pm after work. Thank you :)

Mel you could also consider using lava rock since this will be a fo tank. I use large red lava rock boulders from The Garden Factory, 3 for $10. Scrub them, rinse them and your good to go. Of course its a matter of personal preference, but I think it looks really good and it is very porous. Just a thought

Oh dear... if I wander in to The Garden Factory I'm sooooo toast. Tank won't be set up until next year. Maybe I'll take a chaperone... :D

I've got some conversations going on some things at this point so I think I'm down to still looking locally for a 55g tank and a Mag12. If I hit a wall on any of the other stuff I'll bring it back to the table.

Huge thanks to everyone for pm's, suggestions and feedback so far! :)

Lol. One of these years I really do need to spend good money and invest in healthy plants. I'm notorius for buying little plants and seeds online and then turning around and planting them way too early every spring.

On the topic of lighting... apparently I need to walk into the spare room more often. Found out two 48" double bulb shop light fixtures w/ T8 32w bulbs are free for me to use.

About the 55g I'm looking for to use as a sump... bigger is an option but I don't really want to go much smaller. Internal stand space I have to work with is 22"wide x 71"long x 31"tall and I'm not opposed to pulling out more than one front brace if needed.

A bump for possible sump. If no one has something available I'll probably go buy a new 55g or 65g in a couple of weeks so I can get plumbing done and water flowing.

Thank you Blurry. :) I've got two 48" double bulb shop light fixtures w/ T8 32w bulbs that I'm going to let G at ABC play with bulb options for me on at some point.

Also picked up a great used skimmer so that has been accomplished too. Just basically waiting on picking up a sump so that I can get started on the plumbing. At that point I hope to have some rock all ready so I can stack/'scape and then add water, salt & sand.

Maybe you should make a sump :)
You could do acrylic - nice and light, doesn't matter if it gets scratched up.
Just an idea :) :)

Lol, I should've seen that one coming. I actually was looking at a perfect acrylic sump today but the $360ish price tag scared me away. I'm pretty sure with acrylic you're supposed to use WeldOn which I have 0 experience with. Hmmm... perhaps I should price some materials, invest in a picnic table, stock the fridge and send out some invites.
