is their coral worth the drive?

To be honest, yes it "may" be worth the drive. (aquarium fantasies, across from Eastdale mall)
The shop usually carries pretty good stuff at a fair price and they do have loyal customers.
The reason that their shop isnt being praised here may be (imo)the owner.

The shop jrthomas40 is talking about right off 231 could be Wet Pets on Mcghee Rd. Nice shop but too small for such a long trip to visit

But Bham, Hoover and Alabaster all have very nice stores and I would say they are for sure worth a day trip and a drive up there. I have not been to Coral Reef Aquatics in Athens but hear it also is very nice

Arm Chair Safari in Auburn is up and growing nice as well

But since you are game for traveling, I would suggest ATL and their stores along with a visit to the GA aquarium to top it off :D

i've been to B&B which is pretty good they are pretty helpful and its like a block away. i'm there like atleast 3 or 4 times a month asking questions and looking. I"ve been to proggressive marine on highway 90, they are smaller they do their own fragging but haven't seen much i really like. They seem more aimed towards more predatory fish like grouper and sharks and stuff. Phat fish in daphne is nice. They too are smaller but i don't know how often they have what. I've only been there once. and just wondering Where is the aquarium at? Is it actually in atl??

I will go with Growurown on this one if you havent been to the Atl. aquarium you need to go it is amazing. I just went this past weekend. They also have several great shops.

Sounds like I need to make a trip down toward Mobile cause it seems they have some nice shops as well.

Yes the Aquarium is in ATL downtown across from the CNN center, if you follow I-85 you will see sign that guide you to it and the exit you take, here is a link to there website

while in Atlanta please check out Cappacino Bay, and Marine fish, there are also some other nice ones you can locate but those are my two favorites
