Looking for handouts.

I just noticed today that one of my halides is not firing, did some trouble shooting and can say without doubt it is my icecap 250 ballast. I am working on getting my led build together but time and life have a way of hindering one.

If anyone has a spare cheapy 250w halide ballast they would be willing to loan, sell cheaply or accept slave labor for payment my tank and I would greatly appreciate it. Looks like the led build is going to have be a priority.

I should also mention in case the rest do not know, IceCap inc is no more and their warranties vanished with them, I have heard a rumor that coralvue is honoring a few on fluorescent ballasts but I cannot confirm that as fact.

Dex. Let me know when you want to do your LED build. I'm sure with both of us working, we can get it done in a night, or two at the most. Yours will be pretty simple and straight forward. You can figure out how to mount it above the tank at another time. Unfortunately I can't do it today or tomorrow. Sunday night after the swap is a possibility though.

If you can't find a temporary ballast, it may be worth hustling with your build. I think you have everything right?

I have everything ready to go, you know the story of my life with work and everything. Stuff has just been chillin in the box it came in waiting for me. As you already know I had hoped to do the renovations downstairs and get the tank room online before completing the lighting as I want to run the bare minimum of hardware on the tank side o the room but that can be addressed at a later date, the corals need their light. For now I am switching the remaining ballast back and forth during the day whilst I'm still on vaca but unfortunately that won't last forever.

I acyually think i have that exact ballast in my barn never used it and nonth think i have the harness but you shouldnt need it lmk
