Looking for help on steel stand question

I'm trying to determine if the following steel will work for a stand with the following tank.

Tank is going to be 120x36x30 or 180x36x30 not sure yet which one.

I found some 2.5" square tube steel with a .25 wall for $100 per 20 feet.
Will this wall support the weight I'm going to have?
Does this price seem reasonable?

I'm no expert but I don't think I would try and support 2.5-3.5 tons on 2.5" anything. The .25 wall thickness may make it possible but I don't think I would be comfortable with it unless there is a hell of alot of crossbracing.

that price seens high ...

I would that stand with 2in i call in the morning.. but i call and see what 2.5 with .250 wall is

i think 2in .120 would be fine i run some numbers i think 3/16 would be better

that stand would have about for the 120in 6 sticks in it made right to sport the tank floor right and the gusits i put the up rights at 2.5 feet

I have to call but last time i got steal for a bug stand like that 2 in was 2.10 to 2.5 a foot

I just made my stand out of 2"X1" and it is .120 wall. I feel that 2" .250 wall would be plenty to support just about any tank that has a large foot print.

Price seems high. My 2"x1" at .120 was $27. I would think $75 max.

That size square tubing should have no problem holding either size tank. I would use 10 uprights on the 120 or 14 on the 180 and that would probably be overkill with that thick of sidewall but better safe than sorry. At that price your looking at roughly $450 for a 3' tall stand on the 180! 5 bucks a foot does seem high though, where did you get that price from?
