Have a small reef tank, a JBJ 29 gallon with LED lights and it is loaded with soft corals. The LEDs just died on me the other day and only the little moonlight LEDs work now. I popped the lid off and set it aside and hung a 250 watt Metal Halide light over the tank. The corals and fish think it's great, my eyeballs disagree as this thing is just hanging from the ceiling.
Until I can get a new light setup, repair the hood lights, or find some other solution I'm stuck with the bare bulb hanging from the ceiling.
I guess I looking for any advice or even better, any old stuff any body would be willing to part with for a reasonable price. Ideally I could find a shade one of you guys no longer has any use for.
I don't have any tanks as awesome as the pictures shown here....but I can regale you with pictures and video from SCUBA diving in exchange!
