looking for input...sump design

Hi all...lost everything due to a 3 day power outage due to last week's sudden snow storm here in state college. So, the 40B is now going to be sold or become a frag tank or something. That being said, I am finally going to set up the 75 I bought a few months ago.
I have built a sump for the 75 and now that I have built it, I think I made a mistake. I think I should have put the return in the middle. Let me know what you think. I am using an octopus NWB150 skimmer. See the pic below. Any input, criticism, or help is greatly appreciated. If need be, I will take it apart and redesign. Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the sump is a 30g.

Bump.....Any more comments? I figured I wouldn't hear much yesterday due to the frag swap....Hopefully I can make the next one... I will definitely be there if it is held in state college again....

nice looking sump almost the same as mine. I put the skimmer in with the drain and use the center as a fudge also added the extra panes of glass to the drain section as a bubble trap sorry to hear about your loss bigger and better to look forward to

skarf. that is what I was thinking about doing...I will have to move the first baffle a little bit so the skimmer will fit.

I would also put the skimmer in the drain and use the center as a fuge. I just think the skimmer will catch alot more stuff in the drain section. Good luck
