Looking for insight on this RO unit

My parents bought me this RO unit from Lowe's for Christmas, and I was just wondering if you guys could help me out here. Firstly, here's a link to the unit. It's not a DI system, and it costs around $199...

Would I be better off returning this one, getting the cash, then buying an RO/DI unit from Buckeye Field Supply, along with a couple shut off valves and floats? Any help is appreciated

Ya I would return it and get a reef system thats more of under the sink setup and you would have to add DI to it which would make it more expensive than just buying 1 with everything on it.

I've also heard that many of the 'fish labeled ones' are just that.. they're overpriced and are essentially the same units as the ones you buy in home repair stores. I personally don't feel that DI is a requirement, but a plus. It removes more nutrients, but the RO typically takes care of 95-98% or so, if I'm not mistaken

Yes, I would return it and get one either from Buckeye or Bulk Reef Supply, both of which are RC sponsors and sell good reef units.

Thanks for the help guys... I think I will go with that last unit posted, probably get it ordered tomorrow sometime. Seems like I've only heard good things about both companies, so I don't think I'll have anything to worry about with the product.

UPDATE - Thanks to everyone's suggestions, I ordered my RO/DI unit from BulkReefSupply on Friday night, and got it in the mail today. I can't wait to get this thing hooked up.

Thanks for all who contributed to this thread. I'm waiting for my tax return to come back and will likely get a nice RO/DI then (many, many many thanks to my 3-month old son for being born.... nice tax credit among so many other blessings :) ;) :D

This unit was $199 plus shipping, and it's gotten really good reviews from a bunch of people here on RC. You may want to consider this one...
