Looking for LFS in Tampa for weekend!

Hi all-
I will be in Tampa starting today for the entire weekend. I will actually be at the Innisbrook Golf Course. I am looking to check out some of the LFS in the area. I'd like to visit stores that are dedicated solely to the aqaurium hobby as I am not interested in going to a Petland kind of a place. Hopefully I can find some nice new goodies to bring by to my little slice of the ocean. If you could leave the name of the store and either a telephone number or the address that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
 
Yeh. Thanks David. We are playing Copperhead at least once. I played the Copperhead last year in this same tourney and it was truly a great course! Thanks for your help.

This is not the medium to start dragging someone through the mud. If you have issues with FAOIS, perhaps you should speak directly with the owner to share your concerns. If talking with John does not help, then keep your issues and gripes to yourself. Making comments like you just did shows lack character on your part.

Many here find John of FAOIS to be quite knowledgable & helpful as well as respected among the reef keeping community.

Did I not show you enough attention? Did I scold you for being foolish? Did I too confidently and concisely state my opinions for you? Did you ask for a discount and I refused? Admittedly, somehow I must have damaged your fragile ego to the point you’ve resorted to pitiful name calling. Psst, by the way that is against the UA. If you would like to drop the cloak of anonymity and have a face to face discussion about your perceptions of me I am more than willing to oblige.

If this has been brought up before maybe the comment was deserving.

I should have said although there are many fine Marine Fish stores in the Tampa area Creative Oceans has a pleasant staff and a great inventory unlike another store that has a great inventory and a great staff and a arrogant owner with no personality who many people including myself refuse to shop there because of this. But that would not be my style

You don't post here much, so I'll grant you a small bit of slack.

1. This is a family friendly forum, so therein lies problem #1 with your post. Fancy footwork around profanity censors doesn't get you off the hook. I guess in your mind, if I were to call you an arrogant [insert word you used], since I didn't type out the entire word, then harm done, right? That's not how we work here. If you don't like that, sorry. I know there are plenty of other reef boards that probably would not have an issue with it.

2. Our [ua] does not allow personal attacks.

3. It's one thing to say "I went to xyz store and found their staff to be less than helpful, not very courteous"...etc. You took it one step too far.

This part of the discussion is over and we will now return to the topic at hand. If you want to discuss your actions any further, send me a PM.

Actually, the debate is whether my personality is closer to base rock or a coarse algae scrubbing pad. If you and "others" don't like me oh well. Shop at what ever store you darn well please. Maybe if there is enough of "you" I'll go out of business. Until then just keep up with the uninspired whining as that seems to be your "style".

For no b.s. and no car lot sales pitches, healthy quality corals & fish, and unbeatable drygoods prices, my reccomendation for an LFS in the tampa area is Fish and Other Ichthy stuff. Marine warehouse, which is only a couple of miles east of FAOIS, is hit or miss, but you can sometimes hit the jackpot and find some jewels in there without breaking the bank.. Might as well stop by there too. My expeirience with Finz (formerly known as Creative Oceans), was that alot of the prices were a lttle unrealistic. and the guy I talked to seemed like he'd say anything to make a sale...

there is no place even close to FAOIS. I have been in the tropical fish hobby for 35 yrs, the last 4 marine and literally been in hundreds of stores and none come close. I dont suck up. im honest. ask my coworkers. you could ask my friends too, if I had any
 
FAOIS- John is a good dood, I met him for the first time the other day and he shared a wealth of information, I did NOT see what that other dood wrote but it must have been bad, the only thing that I can say about that store is that they helped me out greatly and spent alot of time sharing info to me when "he" didnt have to. GREAT store IMO.
