Why dont you just go over to Big Al's and get some base rock, mix it in with the live rock you have now and your rock will seed the base rock over time...this is the cheapest way....I sure you can get base rock for under 1.50 a lb

I wouldn't use Big Al's for live rock... Most of the stuff I've seen there is a little overpriced for the stuff they put off as live rock. In my experience, Reef's Edge, Reef Life, and Beverly's (although I wouldn't buy livestock from Beverly's) has the nicer stuff. Reef Life is usually some of the best, Beverly's is a close 2nd (if you like Haitian live rock, it's cheap, very lightweight, and usually has some critters), and Reef's Edge usually has some good shaped stuff as well. I like the Haitian for base, just because it's cheap and lots of little hidey holes.

By the way, when I mentioned Beverly's, I meant the one on Pines Blvd and University, not the one on University near Atlantic. Pines has much better stuff.

the Coral Springs store was actually sold to someone else and IMO went way downhill! I went out there a few times since they sold it and thye had nothing...over half of the tanks were empty...

I know of a place in Tampa that has tons of Fiji for 2.90 a pound. PM me if your interested. I've got bout 70#'s of it in my 65g. Great looking with tons of purple coraline.
