looking for a good price on about 100#'s of LR. Be it out of someones tank, or at a local fish store. I'm in toledo and am willing to drive if the price is right. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction!!

Thanks,
Jon

Head on up to the Tropicorium and get 50lb base rock and 50 lb of liverock. The base rock is only $1.69 a pound and looks great after just a few months.

I have reservations about rock from tropicorium. I bought some corals on rocks last summer and just on a tiny piece I pulled out 8 isopods. do i know for a fact they were the bad kind? no. did I want to risk it? hella no.

There are a lot of isopods that are safe for an aquarium. They might be harmless. Actually come to think about it, their coral pools have maybe 1 fish per giant pool. I don't think isopods that prey on fish would be able to sustain them selves under those conditions, so I would venture a guess that they are harmless.

Gary's sells it for $1.69 also... save you some driving.. I've seen some pretty good pieces at Gary's-- can't say the same for the ones at Tropicorium--at least what they had near the door-- but I think I read on here somewhere that they keep more in back... but of course they didn't tell me that when I'm picking through there lousy crate by the door. I have not gotten very good advice from the people at tropicorium-- I doubt I will drive up there again--- they do have the best live rock selection around here though... and a good livestock selection also... IMO

thanks for all the replys guys, i actually called around to some not so local stores and found that the Fish Doctors in Yipsalanti MI had some figi live rock for about $6 a pound. The guy was really cool and when i told him that i wanted more than 50 pounds he hooked me at $4 a pound. so again thanks for all the help.
