Looking for something bigger than a small frag - let meknow what you have price and size. Thanks!

I need to trim mine back it's currently about 14" in diameter. (Plenty for large frags :) )
here's a pic.

The image is a little dark, I didn't have time this morning to edit it.
The Clown Goby is about 1.5" long.

This Spongodes has grown many fingers creating an interesting branching look.
I have seen others that were more encrusting with less branching.

I keep it about 6-7" below the water surface under a Hamilton 14K 250w SE.

It sits in the front of my SPS Garden and does not fight with the Tort behind it or leather to it's left.
The skin is a golden yellow with nice big brown polyps.

As you can see it is the Clown Goby's favorite because it has so many perches.

I think the ones that encrust but do not grow fingers are Montipora Confusa. They otherwise look almost identical. It's just a different type of growth. (I think)

water flow may be a determining fator as well. High flow = less fingers.

Mine has areas of both.

I have both confusa and spongodes (at least that is what I purchased them as) and they both have fingers...actually the confusa has more...but who knows if they were properly identified.

Googling doesn't help. I'm not positive. Genetics had both and he identified the non-finger version as Confusa and the ones with fingers with Spongodes. If he's still cruising these boards, maybe he can help.

Like szwab said...it seems flow affects the growth of fingers...imagine this is true for both of them.
