There's a Vince nepthea DBTC and also a Jim nepthea DBTC.

It's fine to have more than one "lineage" of coral being propagated. And it's kinda preferable that people with offerings start their own threads even if we have that species already. Helps to keep track of the "chains".

He owes me a coral transport (The DBTC corals from the last meeting where I had to keep standing up asking for "The Asian guy named Tom who's wife is with him")!

I ended up getting my Nepthea from Darcy--she lives 3 minutes from me. Coincidentally, Mothra, I gave her some Orange cloves. What other soft coral type things do you have?

I only have a few other softies... lots of xenia, some funky colored yumas, and grey-bluish polyps. If I break into my wifes tank... shes got lots of good stuff, but I don't think she'd let me trade most of it I could probably get a nice orange ricordia or two.

I have a Schmuck one also, but it is less green under low light.

It may be that the Charles one originally came from the Smuck colony a long time ago, though.

I think we should all try and keep this lineage "Schmucks green nepthea" as distinct and segregated as possible. Obviously noone's using the name to make money, since we're trading, or in the case of the DBTC program, giving the coral away. I know Matt has had this colony a long time (11 years iirc?) and has given or traded away, in his estimation, thousands of frags over the years.

It is, the brightest green nepthea morph I've ever kept and it's been a Bay Area favorite for years.
So if you got it from Matt or you know it comes from him for sure, cool.
If not, see if you can trace the lineage. It's often a neat adventure finding out were "your" coral's been.
