Looking for opinions on EcoTech Marine

Anybody have a full blown EcoTech Marine setup with multiple Radion Pro Lights, VorTech Pumps, EcoSmart, and ReefLink? I've been 100% impressed with my single VorTech pump on my small tank and wondering if it scales nicely when you start adding on more components and controlling it via computer.

I have 1 gen 3 radion not pro and 2 gen 2 radions again not pro and 4 vortechs, but do not have them linked and do not own a cell.

they are great products but pricey, wait for a sale before purchasing and save $100 on radions.

with the gen 3 radions I think you only need the pros for larger deeper tanks;

I ended up with that 150 tall Will was selling. I'm thinking I'm going to end up needing the pros (or something similar) for that. Thanks for the advice.
Man that tank has been around! Anyways that was my old tank and I used 2 MP40's and they worked awesome.

History of the 150 Tall for fun :

Ha! I hope that many owners is not a bad sign. It fits Exactly PERFECTLY into my man cave. I've never had a drilled setup before and so the plumbing is all new to me. Rodger, you don't happen to know any manufacturing specifics on the tank or sump do you? I bought the whole thing on faith in the idea that I can make it work (and Will demonstrating that it didn't leak).

Considering how many homes it has had, it seems in pretty good condition.

No it was an awesome tank, my reason for getting rid of it was I was short and to do any work in the tank I basically had to go swimming. :)

This is what it was when I had it :

4ft Oceanic Tech 150g with Stand
ADHI 45 Sump/Fuge
Pandworld 50px-x w/ Manifold
ASM G3 Skimmer Mesh Modded
Dual 250 Galaxy Ballast
4ft Maristar 250x2MH and 2x54T5 (dimmable with Apex)
2x Little Fish Reactors
1x 300w Heater
1x Frag rack
2x MP40's

For that tank 2 gen 3 radion pros should work nicely, The G3 skimmer will had I used for about a month on my 180 and it did a great job while I was waiting on the skimmer I ordered. If the sump does not work for you I have a drilled 75 sump with baffles under the back porch.

Thanks for the info. Will's post had nearly talked me out of this skimmer when he said "125 G or less" even though it was rated at 250. I'll ask him again.

I'll keep the sump in mind - I've got to get my head around the whole system and what is realistically needed to make it all work.

I have a gen 3 pro and 2 MP40s. I don't have reeflink but I really enjoy how they communicate. It was worth it IMO.

I had no problems running the G3 once dialed in.

Rich let me me know when you are ready to do a fresh water water test and I'll be happy to come by and get you started with the plumbing aspect. If you are interested in the skimmer let me know. It's a little under rated, but it will get you started off right and should be OK until you are ready for acros. Thanks again for taking it off my hands. I needed to clear the basement and a little extra $ for the honeymoon was nice too.

I also have a GFO or carbon reactor if you need that. I was looking for $25 for that since you have that extra output on the manifold. And a heater if you need that.

Also, one other think if you want to try a Jebao WP40 it's what I use and the price is certainly right at $80. I have a spare if you want to give that shot as a loaner until you decide to pull the trigger. It's a lot cheaper than the MP40. Let me know when you are ready and I'll be happy to bring stuff by and help with the plumbing etc.

I have ecotech radian pros and vortech mp40wes x3. I really like the set up. Feel free to come and check them out sometime.
