Looking for overflow recommendations

Looks like a 1" line coming from the pump and a 1.5" for the overflow into the sump. I bought this tank used and all setup, so I am now just starting to try and change things to fit my ideas better. Looks like the return line has a side discharge off of a T with a valve that may be slowing some flow.

I'm going to have to play with things for a while and see what happens.
